who builds and maintains our mtb trails?

Have you ever wondered who builds and maintains the MTB trails? Are there magical trail gnomes out there hard at work while we're all sleeping? Maybe there are NEMBA Gnomes?

  • 50’ puncheon bridging at Sawmill Hills
  • Machine-built re-route on Middle Earth at Sawmill Hills
  • Climbing trail at Deerfield River Trails- Phase One complete, Phase Two coming summer 2026
  • Multiple bridge replacements in Earl's Trails
  • 100’ puncheon bridge repair on Robert Frost Trail - projected completion winter 2025
  • Earl's Trails parking lot- In the planning stages

We have four different active trail crews at this time caring for our trail systems on a volunteer basis. Each trail crew works independently to care for their trail system in tandem with landowners and conservation groups to help keep these systems up-to-date and open for recreation. Check out our current trail crews to learn more and see how you can get involved!
