Earl's is a shared effort between NEMBA, Massachusetts DCR, Amherst College, Hampshire College, Kestrel, and local landowners. Earl's is on the northern edge of the Mount Holyoke Range State Park, and includes three reservoirs.
There are multiple parking areas. There is parking at The Notch visitor center on West Street, to the southeast or upper end of the trail network. There is also parking at the end of Chmura Road, at the northwest lower end of the trail network. Both are mapped on Trailforks.
Additional parking options are at the Hampshire College Facilities Department parking lot, and on Military Road.
Earl's is primarily a mix of easy and intermediate trails.

Friends of Earl's Trails is a volunteer trail conservation group aimed at sustainability and access. We maintain a set of trails nestled along the Holyoke Mountain range in Amherst and Hadley.
Earl's Trails are a shared effort with Massachusetts DCR, Amherst College, Hampshire College, Kestrel, and other local landowners with our group functioning as the primary caretakers. Our volunteer trail stewards adopt trails, and are responsible for overall upkeep, as well as managing updates to adapt to the landscape as it changes over time.
